Heather,
I did it. I completed the 30 day challenge and it was one of the best things I have ever done. Including the opportunity to meditate as part of the challenge was a great idea. Yoga is now part of my every day routine, and so is meditation. This is a picture from the hotel room I shared at Cedar Point with 6 kids. It is in the closet, and I meditated there for 23
minutes. I heard the one of the kids say “where is dad”, and my daughter answered “in the closet meditating”. The response was “well, when he comes out tell him where we are”. The accepted it and it. There is always time to meditate, and there will always be time for yoga. The
challenge is not over — the challenge has just begun. Thank you, John Jarrett

Hi Heather,

Feel free to post my tweet to the blog as well… I’ve struggled with my weight all my life and tried many forms of diet and exercise. Now nearing my 40′s I’ve realized the key to my well being is yoga. The mental and physical aspects of yoga has been the most important factor in my fitness journey. Every time I leave class I have learned something new, whether its a new pose or a thought to carry me through the day. It helps me to start and restart and rededicate myself where and when I need to.

I have always wanted to do yoga but resisted it because of my weight or because I thought I wasn’t flexible enough . Now after the challenge I’m down almost 50 pounds and look and feel like a new person, or perhaps the person I was always meant to be. It has been the key that unlocked so many possibilities for me. I committed myself to the 30 day yoga challenge and completed it. My wife asked me what I was going to do after the challenge and I said…go to yoga…I can’t stay away! Thanks TYC!

Reflections from the mat (with due deference to Rolf Gates):
10/8 –Meditating during Yom Kippur while fasting is even more distracting than a numb foot. However, when you get past the hunger, the weakness actually works in your favor. Far less energy to “attach” to anything, and easier just to give into “letting go”
On the other hand, a bagel sounds pretty good right now.

10/11 –Today I did a 20 minute meditation focused on purifying my own energy & staying true to my convictions. This way, I can positively affect others & the world (since we are all connected…;-)

10/24 –A good day is when I make it to and through a yoga class
A better day is when a teacher teaches me something new in class
A best day is when I have so much fun learning it
10/25 –There are so many things I can do in yoga that I never thought would be possible
There are so many others I wish I could do
Oh well, maybe next breath
